Phillies rough up Jimenez, Rockies for third straight win

07/24/2010 - Philadelphia, PA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Jimmy Rollins finished 3-for-5 with three RBI as Philadelphia sent Ubaldo Jimenez to the showers early in a rousing 10-2 victory over Colorado in the second edition of a four-game series.

Ryan Howard also knocked in three runs and Raul Ibanez added a two-run homer for the Phillies, who have won three in a row and have scored 16 runs in the first two games of this series.

Fresh from a demotion to Triple-A earlier in the week, Kyle Kendrick (6-4) scattered six hits and one run over seven solid innings to post his first win since July 3.

Ian Stewart was 2-for-4 with a solo homer and Carlos Gonzalez knocked in the other run for the Rockies, losers of four straight and eight of their last 10.

Jimenez (15-2) turned in his shortest outing of the year, going two-plus innings and was responsible for three hits and six runs, fanning two and tying a season-worst with six walks.

After leaving the bases loaded in the second, the Phils broke through in the third with seven runs.

Rollins singled, stole second and moved to third on a throwing error, before Placido Polanco and Ibanez both walked. Howard cleared the bases with a triple inside the first-base bag, and a wild pitch scored him for a 4-0 game. Jayson Werth walked and when Shane Victorino also was given a free pass, Jimenez was escorted from the mound.

Matt Belisle allowed an RBI single to Greg Dobbs, then Brian Schneider's fielder's choice grounder left runners on the corners and Kendrick completed a sacrifice. Rollins then made it 7-0 with a two-run triple.

Stewart's homer to center to start the fifth put the Rockies on the board, but the home team responded with two in the sixth after Polanco doubled and Ibanez hammered a two-run shot for a 9-1 game.

Colorado wasted a bases-loaded situation in the seventh, and a Rollins RBI single pushed the Phillies into double digits.

Gonzalez stroked a run-scoring double off Jose Contreras in the eighth, but Vance Worley turned aside the Rox in the ninth during his major-league debut.

MySportsbook.com refunds all bets on Oakland, Green Bay and Tampa Bay from NFL week one.

(September 14) – Week one of NFL action saw three teams go scoreless for the first time since 1977.  Another four were unable to get a touchdown and almost half of the underdogs covered the spread. Those three teams saved bettors at MySportsbook.com from losing out completely, thanks to the company’s unique NFL Shutout Rule -- which ensures that if the team you backed goes scoreless, your wager is refunded.

Sportsbook refunded tens of thousands of dollars to customers who bet on Oakland, Green Bay and Tampa Bay, the three teams that stunk up the field so badly that their fans and backers never had a chance to get up from their couches and cheer.  In the spirit of the low scoring start to the season, odds makers at the world’s largest online sportsbook and casino have set odds on how many total shutouts there will be this season.

MySportsbook.com has posted updated sports betting lines for week two of the season.  Ben Roethlisberger’s health status is still questionable, so Willie Parker will try to lead Pittsburgh again as they travel to Jacksonville as a one point favorite.  After beating up on his little brother last week, Peyton Manning will look to lead the Colts to victory against Houston. Indianapolis is a whopping 13.5 favorite in the match-up.

Seattle, last year’s highest scoring team, showed the power of their defense with their gritty 9-6 win in Motown over the ravenous Lions.  They take their act back home to the comforts of Qwest Field where they will face the resurgent Arizona Cardinals.  The Seahawks are favored by a touchdown.
